
Tawfik Maudah’s journey begins in the mountain village of Alsharm, Yemen, where family, fresh food, and tradition shaped his earliest years. After moving to Sana’a and later traveling across the United States as a student, what was meant to be temporary became a true sense of home.
After years of building a life and career across the country, Tawfik settled in Seattle, where he noticed something missing: authentic Yemeni cuisine. Driven by a deep connection to his roots and a desire to share his culture, he and his wife took a leap of faith to open Café Yemen.
Today, Tawfik is more than a restaurateur, he is a cultural bridge, bringing the flavors, history, and hospitality of Yemen to his community, one meal at a time.
